Released on July 30, 2014, PTX, Vols. 1 & 2 was the first official studio album by Pentatonix and marked their effective display of a cappella brilliance. PTX Presents: Top Pop, Vol. I is the sixth studio album by Pentatonix, issued on April 13, 2018. It’s the first group’s album with the fourth group member: bass vocalist Matt Sallee, replacing Avi Kaplan. At the same time, it is the first Pentatonix album to consist of only covers and have no own compositions. The album features popular hits such as “Havana,” “Perfect,” and “Attention,” performed in the group’s signature a cappella style. Three singles were released prior to the debut of the album, “Havana” and “New Rules x Are You That Somebody?” The critics praised the album as full of flashy performances, but said that it had no great depth.
