He began his music career in 2013 under the name “Trap Goose,” but later changed it to Lil Peep, a nickname given to him by his mother.
His SoundCloud releases, including the 2015 single “Star Shopping,” quickly garnered him a dedicated following. He gained further popularity with the release of mixtapes like Lil Peep; Part One and Live Forever in 2015, followed by Crybaby and Hellboy in 2016. Lil Peep’s music blended elements of emo, trap, lo-fi, alternative rock, pop punk, and rap rock. In 2017, he embarked on his first solo tour, performing in Russia, Europe, and the United States. During this time, he also released his debut studio album, Come Over When You’re Sober, Pt. 1, which showcased his evolving sound.
Tragically, on November 15, 2017, Lil Peep passed away on his tour bus in Tucson, Arizona, just two weeks after his 21st birthday, due to an accidental overdose of fentanyl and Xanax.
