Jhené Aiko Albums in Order: From her humble beginnings as a backing vocalist for B2K to her chart-topping success, Jhené Aiko Efuru Chilombo has carved a remarkable path in the realm of R&B music.

Jhené Aiko Efuru Chilombo, born on March 16, 1988, in Los Angeles, California, is an American R&B singer-songwriter whose journey through the music industry has been as dynamic as her soulful melodies. Aiko’s musical odyssey began in 2002 when she lent her vocals as a backing vocalist and appeared in music videos for the R&B group B2K.

Marketed as the “cousin” of B2K’s Lil’ Fizz to cultivate her own following, she was signed by their record label, The Ultimate Group, that same year. However, her debut album, slated for release in 2003, was postponed as she chose to prioritize her education. It wasn’t until March 2011 that Aiko resurfaced in the music scene with the release of her mixtape, “Sailing Soul(s),” marking a triumphant return to her musical roots. Subsequently, she inked a recording deal with No I.D.’s ARTium Recordings in December of the same year, setting the stage for her mainstream breakthrough. Aiko’s ascent to stardom gained momentum with her collaboration alongside Lil Wayne on Big Sean’s 2013 hit single “Beware,” catapulting her into the top 40 realm of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Her debut extended play (EP), “Sail Out,” released in November 2013, further solidified her standing in the industry, with the track “The Worst” achieving quintuple platinum certification from the RIAA. Since then, Aiko has continued to captivate audiences with her poignant lyrics and mesmerizing vocals, earning critical acclaim and commercial success with albums like “Souled Out” (2014), “Trip” (2017), and “Chilombo” (2020), the latter garnering her three Grammy Award nominations, including Album of the Year.
