Hinds’ self-titled debut album, Leave Me Alone, was released in January 2016, a mix of lo-fi, surf-rock, and garage pop. Fronted by vocalists Carlotta Cosials and Ana Perrote, this Spanish quartet let loose a slew of raw, energy-driven tracks that address romance and youthful abandon. But with singles such as “Chili Town” and “Garden,” for example, it is very clear how this playfulness links with, at times, sadness. The camaraderie and spirited performances made the album a critical favorite, even if some felt it didn’t break any new ground creatively speaking. A deluxe edition arrived in October 2016, featuring B-sides and demos, alongside an animated video for “Bamboo” that’s wholly beguiling.

“I Don’t Run,” the second studio album from Spanish garage rockers Hinds, reveals the band’s evolving sound and maturity. The album came out in April 2018, recorded with Gordon Raphael, famous for his previous work with The Strokes. The album switches seamlessly between uptempo and laid-back tracks, jangling guitar riffs, dual vocals courtesy of Ana Perrote and Carlotta Cosials. It lyrically tackles romance, cheating, and touring difficulties in both English and Spanish. Largely championed for its energy and genuineness, I Don’t Run strengthened Hinds’ standing in the indie rock world while honing their musical skills.

The Prettiest Curse, Hinds’ third studio album, is a dynamic turn in sound for the Spanish garage rock band. Co-produced by Jennifer Decilveo and recorded in New York and London, the album mixes raw energy with melodies that are more polished and pop-infused. With keyboard additions and lyrics in both English and Spanish, this record shows more depth in identity. Singles like “Riding Solo” and “Just Like Kids (Miau)” toy with romance and sexism, respectively, as the band has embraced their cultural background. With the pandemic pushing its release, The Prettiest Curse saw critical acclaim for its bop and emotional depth.
4. Viva Hinds (2024)

- Hi, How Are You
- The Bed, the Room, the Rain and You
- Boom Boom Back
- Stranger
- Superstar

“Viva Hinds,” the fourth studio album by Spanish garage rock band Hinds, was released on 6th September 2024 via Lucky Number. It’s their first in four years since The Prettiest Curse and also the first without bassist Ade Martin and drummer Amber Grimbergen, who departed in 2022. Produced by Pete Robertson of The Vaccines, it finds the band collaborating with Beck and Grian Chatten of Fontaines D.C. on different parts of the album. There’s also a mix of both English and Spanish lyrics, which appear on the previously released singles “Coffee” and “Boom Boom Back.” With energy to boot, Viva Hinds reveals the band is moving ahead in full color.
Conclusion:
The garage rock sound glued Hinds firmly together from the very beginning of their days as Deers through dynamic evolvement to the rise of this band into one of the most popular indie rock ensembles. After four studio albums, each reflecting growth and creativity, Hinds strongly cemented their position in the indie music scene. What is important and emphasized with “Hinds Albums in Order” is, from that punky fume of Leave Me Alone to the pains Hinds has taken with Viva Hinds, how they grew musically. Their resilience and agility in the face of change has kept them a vibrant force within modern rock, captivating audiences worldwide.
