This record achieved a peak position of No. 29 on the Billboard 200 chart and featured hit singles “Rock ‘n’ Roll Children” and “Hungry for Heaven.” Notably, it marked the end of guitarist Vivian Campbell’s tenure with the band, as he was fired during the album’s tour. A rift between Dio and Campbell during recording led to Dio’s statement that Campbell wasn’t truly present for the record. “Sacred Heart,” with its 38-minute duration, is Dio’s shortest album and achieved Gold certification from the RIAA on October 15, 1985.
